Paperwhite Narcissus Bulbs

I have gone absolutely bulb-crazy. First, I bought a bunch of bulbs from Brent and Becky's Bulbs. Then I decided to buy a couple of vases to grow my paperwhites in. I like growing them in tall, wide mouthed vases so that when they get floppy, which mine inevitably do, they don't fall over.

Just when I was despairing over how much vases cost, I looked in a local thrift store and found cheap, wonderful vases galore.

Using one of these vases (which cost all of 99 cents), I put together a step by step on how to force paperwhite narcissus bulbs to flower. It's incredibly easy and can make a really great inexpensive gift. However, there is a caveat. Though I absolutely love the smell, there are some people who can't stand the intense fragrance. But I figure, even if they don't like it, 'tis the season for re-gifting.
