When the Days Were Longer

I can't tell you how happy I am that the winter solstice is past. Now, every day we gain a few extra minutes of light. A few minutes doesn't seem like a lot, but when it gets dark at 4:15, every extra minute counts and in just a month the days will feel considerably longer.

Honestly, I am not sorry to say good-bye to 2008 - in many ways it was a great and grand year filled with hope and unity, but as we all watched our savings disappear into the vortex of the economy, it was really the pits too.

So for 2009 I send wishes for a happy, healthy, peaceful and plant filled year in which all your container gardens thrive.
