How cute! Love the way the colors of the flowers reflect the colors in the juice pouch. By the way, we used to throw our old juice pouches away, but we discovered that Capri Sun has a recycling program, and now our school collects drink pouches all week long in the lunchroom, and we send them in big bags. Our school gets money for them, and we get to keep them out of the landfill.

I’m going to have to start that going at our school. There’s a great company called Terracycle that makes cool things out of juice boxes.

My mother-in-law used to plant flowers in all kinds of strange things. She used old hard hats to make hanging baskets, for example. I guess the recycling movement is taking us full circle. Most of her creations weren’t this attractive, but they were eye-catching!

Kerry, Terracycle is the same one we’re doing it through. We found them through the Capri Sun folks. And the best part is you can send in ANY drink pouch, not just Capri Sun.
‘Cuz in my house we buy the store brand

That is surprisingly lovely! I am not one for individual containers as a norm, because of the cost and the environmental issues, but this is a great idea for those who do use them. And I’m really glad to hear about Capri Sun’s recycling program, too!

That is the coolest idea! I have all sorts of ideas for upcycled containers now. We don’t drink Capri Sun at my house, but we certainly have lots of other stuff that would work!

That’s very attractive! Makes me want to try something like this – it’s a great way to reuse juice boxes.

Very creative! You get awards for making use of a discarded item and making it beautiful. Could be used to start seedling too.

I’m a landscape teacher in one of the secondary school in Malaysia. Using juice poucher as a container garden is good for the environment.I will my ask my student to use it. In Malaysia we use things like coconut shell as a container garden.

Afandi Ali – Thanks for the comment. What a great idea to use a coconut shell. If you have a picture, I would love to see it. Happy new year!
