I love companies that give away plants to good causes. Nature Hills Nursery is giving away $4500 worth of plant materials, with a grand prize worth $2000 that can be used to buy trees, fruit trees, shrubs, perennials, and vegetable seeds. They are looking for projects that will use plants and trees for community improvement.
According to the Nature Hills Website, "Our goal is to help communities reclaim land, turning eyesores into oases. We want to help dedicated individuals, groups and organizations make their local communities better by providing a living gift of trees and plants that not only clean the air but also provide respite and a natural retreat. With each reclamation, wildlife and beauty can once again flourish."
Projects will ultimately be chosen on the basis of Facebook votes, with the final announcement on August 11, 2012
The application deadline is June 17.
