While most of my experiences using online nurseries have been good, recently I got a batch of bad plants. I ordered Purple Mojo hens and chicks from Spring Hill Nursery. They looked so cool and unusual in the catalog that I couldn't resist. When they arrived and the plants looked nothing like they looked in the catalog and nothing like any hens and chicks I had ever bought before. I called the nursery's customer service and was told they may be in some kind of travel shock. I said, I didn't think so. I was offered a refund or a new batch. Fair enough.
The second batch just arrived and they were not only pale, they were half rotten. I know that nurseries sometimes make mistakes, and the rest of the plants that came with my order were fine, but I do want to make the point that if you get plants that are questionable looking, you should call customer service. Most places will either send new plants or give you a refund.
In the end, customer service at Spring Hill Nursery was very accommodating and gave me a full refund.
