My mother-in-law would characterize these as “tacky little flowers,” and they definitely aren’t as showy as your usual WWs. But you have portrayed them very artistically, and arugula is a nice addition to a salad!

Mmm I love the flavor aroma and pungent taste of arugula. Those flowers mean seeds for growing even more arugula .

The flowers look very delicate and pretty, but don’t they mean the salad, sadly, is on its way out?

Yes, the flowers mean the salad is on the way out, but I actually prefer the flowers. They are almost indescribable – spicy, but subtle. You have to try them. Let some of your arugula go to seed and try them.

Sometimes the flower add so much to the otherwise green greens. The mellow flavor of some of the flowers translates into a complex salad once the dressing and garnish are put on .

These are lovely little flowers, but you don’t always think of them as flowering. and you can eat them!
