My daughter loves to bake and we had been talking for a few years about trying to sugar borage flowers--which we have tons of. We also thought we would try pansies and violas, lemon verbena, lemon balm and mint leaves. I have to say it was a fun project, and we couldn't have been happier with the results.

Our favorites were the borage, mints (we are growing chocolate, pineapple and ginger varieties), lemon verbena and lemon balm.

Here are the instructions for how we did it:

Hi Upma – Thanks for your kind words. You make my day.

Hmmm..sorry about the succulent. If you are leaving for the winter, is there a neighbor you can leave your plants with?

If not, you will probably have to leave them out to fend for themselves. I would put them in a protected place, and keep my fingers crossed!
