Protecting Planters from Hurricanes or High Winds

Ok, so we all may be in for it. It may be hype, but then again, they are talking "perfect storm." Because we live far from town and regularly experience long and chilly power outages, we thankfully have a generator.

The threat of high winds has finally broken through my sloth and procrastination and spurred me to finally deal with my 100 or so containers that need to be put to bed for the winter.

Also, from experience I know that in a high wind, containers can become airborne and dangerous in a big blow, particularly if they have a trellis.

The good news is that it is the end of my season, so I am dumping my pots or bringing them inside. I won't even clean them, just stick them in my shed, and wash them in spring.
