I confess that I'm not above lying to make a friend happy, though I'm not very good at it. I have seen many performances, read books and articles by friends and searched for responses that are more than tepid and less than bold-faced lies. It's always such a huge relief when you actually like a friend's work and you can say with sincerity, 'I LOVE it.' Luckily, my friend and colleague Andrew Keys has written such a book.
Why Grow This When You Can Grow That: 255 Extraordinary Alternatives to Everyday Problem Plants.
Published by Timber Press this book is filled with information, exuberant attitude, great prose and wonderful pictures. I'm going to order a bunch for holiday gifts.
