Ok. Honestly, I think any season is perfect for cosmos. I know that some people turn up their nose at cosmopolitans and my husband has been ridiculed for drinking them (how sexist is that????), but I think they are delightful.
I add fresh orange juice to the classic recipe and make them by the pitcher. During the growing I season add lemon balm. I always have lots growing in my herb containers. You can substitute lemon verbena for the lemon balm.
