Annual Wreath by Allen, Sterling and Lothrop

Photograph Kerry Michaels

Looking back on this year, I have to say that in general it was wonderful, especially if you evaluate happiness in pounds of tomatoes (which, to some extent I do). My containers thrived, my family was healthy and happy. My kids, even though they are teens still like me--most of the time.

Also, this year I learned a great deal about gardening and about life--the knowledge of each often being transferable to the other.

I want to thank each and every reader of this website. Because of you, I have a job that suits me perfectly. I get to play in the dirt, take pictures and write--often in my pajamas.

Wishing you a year full of peace, joy, laughter and plants galore!

Kerry,
I am loving the juxtaposition of that beautiful annual wreath photo, and the falling snow out the window adjacent to my screen — falling on the 12 inches of snow we already have.

Thank you for taking me through the seasons! Your blog is a respite of beauty and clever tips all year long.

Happy New Year to you, your teenage kids, and your sexy husband who drinks cosmos!

Hello Kerry, the Lady with gift for words. How I enjoy your letters to us. They are so down-to-earth. I am glad to see them coming into our home again. They were missed there for a while. I feel so much like you do when you write it’s as if you’ve read my mind somehow. We all know ladies have almost a sixth sense. After all, the second time around is an improvement, if you know what I mean.
Who made the beautiful wreath in the photo? My goodness it is breath-taking and homey at the same time. Keep up the writings. They are enjoyed I am sure by all your followers.

Kindest Regards,
Louise(Lou)

Hey Lou – Your comment made my day! Many thanks for taking the time to write it. Your words mean a lot to me.

A local nursery made the wreath. They do beautiful containers and wreaths and are always generous about letting me photograph them.

Have a very happy new year, and again, thanks!
