Container Gardens, U.S. Botanic Garden

What exactly is a container garden? That's a question that I ponder every once in awhile. I'm thinking, if it's growing and in a container, it qualifies. However, if it's in my house and it dies, I call it a houseplant -- not my expertise, so not my bad.
Despite what I have said above, I have gallery of winter container garden pictures -- some of which don't even have anything alive in them.
True container gardens or not, I hope you enjoy them.

So, for you, outside is all that counts.
I have to say that my definition seems to shift and regularly. I’m going to start some terrariums next week. I guess if they live I will also call them container gardens. I love flexible definitions!
