All you really need is a wooden, Clementine orange box, some newspaper, potting soil, slow release fertilizer, pansies and violas.

To figure out how many plants to get, bring your box along to the nursery and fill it with pansy and viola pots. Buy one or two extras plants just to to make sure you have enough to really fill up the box.
