I picked this plastic bread basket up at a discount store for a couple of dollars. I loved the color and the shape. To plant it, I lined the basket with a heavy, clear plastic bag, which I then cut holes in for drainage.
I wanted to put this on my deck so knew it would be in the sun, so chose plants that love full sun. I stuffed it full of grasses (blue fescue) and succulents.
By the end of the summer, the plastic had faded a bit, but it still looked good, so I brought the whole thing inside to overwinter.
I wouldn't plant edibles in this basket, because I don't know what it is made of, and it could potentially leach chemicals into my soil.
