Guide Review - Gardening Magazine
Fine Gardening magazine is beautiful, well-written and each month has tons of great tips and ideas for container gardening as well as general gardening. It sometimes astonishes me that they can cover so much ground in each edition.
I am also continually impressed that the magazine does such a good job in spanning such a huge range of experience and interests. Fine Gardening magazine reads equally well for beginners and experts, while providing specific information for gardeners in every zone.
In each issue there are eight "regional reports"; Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southern Plains, Southwest, Rocky Mountains, Northwest and California. I read them all and find interesting tips and information even in the reports for areas that are very different than my own.
Fine Gardening magazine has an emphasis on environmental responsibility and water conservation, without being preachy. The articles are written with style and humor, and the images are often breathtaking.
The Fine Gardening web site is also fantastic. It is easy to navigate and shares the same overall quality as the magazine, with great images and writing, and it features some great videos. Another highlight of the web site is the plant profiles, which have a great audio feature giving proper Latin pronunciation. Finally, I can pronounce, brugmansia suaveolens. Phewwww....
