If your potting soil doesn’t have fertilizer already added, mix in the amount of fertilizer specified on the label. I use a slow release organic fertilizer. One of the great things about this kind of fertilizer is that you have more latitude on how much you add. You don’t have to worry about it burning your plants, which some chemical fertilizers will do, if you mix in too much.
